Loveland Pass Engagement Session

There’s something about Loveland Pass that just amazes me every time. Maybe it’s the way the wind whips through your hair at 11,990 feet, or how the light shifts across the peaks like it’s painting in real time. Whatever it is, it was the perfect backdrop for Brooke and Grant’s engagement session.

We met up just before golden hour, and the weather was classic Colorado. A little unpredictable, a little dramatic, and totally stunning. Brooke showed up in a cozy neutral-toned cardigan and sneakers that were cute and practical, while Grant kept it simple in denim and layers. They weren’t trying to be anything but themselves, and that made the whole shoot feel effortless.

What I loved most about photographing these two was how grounded they are with each other. No forced poses, no awkward energy, just real connection. They laughed through the wind, held each other close when the chill kicked in, and didn’t mind getting a little messy when we climbed down to a rocky overlook. That’s the kind of energy that makes a session feel less like work and more like hanging out with friends.

Loveland Pass gave us everything: dramatic ridgelines, soft alpine light, and even a few patches of snow that added texture to the shots. We wrapped up with a few quiet moments as the sun dipped behind the mountains, and I swear the whole valley went silent for them.

This session was especially meaningful — not only were Brooke and Grant the best clients, and Brooke is a crazy talented photographer herself and a good friend/colleague of mine. It’s always an honor to photograph fellow photographers. Stay tuned for their dreamy fall elopement at Guanella Pass!

If you’re thinking about an engagement session in the high country, Loveland Pass is always a win! Please reach out, I’d love to help create magic for you.
