A TAMPA, FLORIDA ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT SUNKEN GARDENS AND FORT DE SOTO
Sarah & Matt's engagement session at Sunken Gardens and Fort De Soto in St. Petersburg, Florida was a dream!! I actually studied abroad with Sarah in Italy when we were both in our undergrad. We were both from Michigan and ended up being in the same apartment in Florence! We hadn't known each other prior (she went to the The University of Michigan and I went to CMU), but we ended up being placed together by coincidence and hit it off right away! When Sarah asked if I wanted to fly down to Tampa to do their engagement photos, I was SO excited!! We hadn't talked a ton after college so I was pumped to get to catch up with her and spend the weekend exploring Tampa with her and her fiancé.
The whole weekend was such a blast and looking at their photos brings me so much joy. We spent the weekend catching up, trying a bunch of cool restaurants and breweries, and exploring the city. It was so much fun catching up with her and getting to know her fiancé Matt! I had never been to Tampa either so it was awesome to check it out and I even seen two dolphins when I was running on the Tampa Bay Trail!!
Obviously aside from all of that, their engagement session was definitely the highlight of my trip. :) We started the session at Sunken Gardens which is this really cool 100 year old garden in St. Petersburg. After we finished there, we headed to Fort De Soto! When we got to Fort De Soto a storm was coming in over the water so we had to act fast!! Luckily we still got about 15 minutes before the rain can and the photos from that 15 minute time span ended up being some of my favorites!!
It was seriously so special to get to be a part of this time in Sarah & Matt's lives, and especially to catch up with an old friend!! It is crazy how something as simple as a camera has connected me to so many new friends, and reconnected me with old ones!
