A TOP OF THE PINES WEDDING IN RIDGWAY, COLORADO

Sara and Matt’s wedding day at Top of the Pines in Ridgway, Colorado was one I will never forget. Ouray, Colorado (and the whole western slope really) is one of my all time favorite places in the world. It’s always a joy whenever I get the chance to go there for work! It’s unlike anywhere else in Colorado - so remote, relaxed, and absolutely breathtaking.

When Sara reached out about having me photograph their wedding at Top of the Pines I was so excited! Not only did we click pretty much immediately, it was a venue I had been wanting to photograph a wedding at forever. I generally photograph weddings and elopements in Ouray/Telluride 3-4 times a year, but this was my first time at Top of the Pines! The view from Top of the Pines is totally unmatched, and it’s an amazing place for a blank canvas to bring your vision to life.

On the day of Sara and Matt’s wedding, we started the day getting ready in Ouray before heading up to Top of the Pines. When we got up there it was a little rainy (which made for the most amazing lighting ever!) and it cleared up just in time. We even had some sun peak through and got to sneak out for some more photos during golden hour! After the most romantic ceremony these two spent the evening dancing outside as the sun went down and soaking up every second of the view. It was such a fun, laid back, and beautiful day. These two were such a blast to get to work with and know! Not I only did I get to photograph their wedding at Top of the Pines, but we also did their engagement photos at Loveland Pass the summer prior which was equally as fun!
